History: The small fishing village
was founded in the late 18th century by the garrison commander Colonel Gordon,
and the town was named after him.
Harbour: Gordon’s Bay has a small fishing port where modern yachts moor alongside fishing boats. Tourism has become an important part of Gordon’s Bay and a lot of holiday apartments and guest houses have been built over the past 15 years near Bikini Beach.
Wine area and wine tours: Not far from the village, the wine region of Somerset West begins which continues to Stellenbosch. Here you can start your first wine tour. Golf courses: Two renowned golf courses are in the near vacinity.
