The winery is located in one of the western
valleys where the climate is slightly more moderate than the rest of the
Swartland due to the adjacent Atlantic Ocean. A cool breeze brings variety and
ensures that the grapes mature well. The handmade wines have a unique
character, which is appreciated by many wine lovers.
The Swartland wine-growing industry is relatively new. Most of the region's wineries irrigate their wine fields with little water. For this reason the Swartland wines have a very good quality. The Swartland Wine Route is very popular among South Africans and the best wines of Cape Town can be enjoyed on a wine tasting.
The production volume of the winery is purposely small, and the wine cellar has all the characteristic of a boutique winery that produces high quality wines. The vineyard is about 400 meters above sea level and the fertile soils consist of some clay, granite and decomposed sandstone.
Some vines are from the 1950s. They were rejuvenated and optimally trimmed, and so new life was breathed into these old grapevines! A lot of Shiraz, Pinotage and also a lot of Chenin and Chardonnay grapes (all from rejuvenated vines) were harvested, vinified, stored and bottled in wine bottles. The commercial property is also suitable as a horse farm. At the moment, four horses are housed there and an extension is easily possible.
Other income could be obtained by renting holiday accommodation. Please feel free to contact us to learn more about the sale of this small winery were handmade wines of individualistic caliber & character are still produced as they were 100 years ago
